snapshot
My first assignment for a continuing education course I took at Emily Carr University of Art & Design - "Fictions in Documentary Photography" as taught by professor and Vancouver photographer Stephen Waddell. The assignment asked students to take a snapshot of something 'ugly' or 'beautiful.' I received a grade of "B " for this assignment.

My submission for a second assignment for a continuing education course I took at Emily Carr University of Art & Design - "Fictions in Documentary Photography" as taught by professor and Vancouver photographer Stephen Waddell. The assignment asked students to take a photograph of a location. In this case, I chose the setup of a Budha sculpture that my Mom has in her back yard.

peek-a-boo
My third assignment for a continuing education course I took at Emily Carr University of Art & Design - "Fictions in Documentary Photography" as taught by professor and Vancouver photographer Stephen Waddell. The assignment asked students to shoot a portrait, and for my portrait I submitted this photo of my friend Shannon Cawley which I consider to be more of a stolen snapshot. I received a grade of "A-" for this assignment.

My last assignment for a continuing education course I took at Emily Carr University of Art & Design, called "Fictions in Documentary Photography" as taught by professor and Vancouver photographer Stephen Waddell. The assignment asked students to take a snapshot of something that could be considered to be "cruel and tender." I've often gone by roadside memorials and thought they would make an interesting subject for a photographic series and this marks the first photo behind that idea.
