an interesting tidbit

From trekweb... Mar 31 | The remains of actor James Doohan will be blasted into space next month, the company organizing the flight said on Friday. Houston-based commercial company Space Services Inc. said some of Doohan's remains were packed into a rocket at Las Cruces, New Mexico, on Friday, ahead of the flight scheduled for April 28. The company had originally planned to blast Doohan's remains into space two years ago. But the flight was delayed by tests, then by a misfire during a practice launch last year. Space Services spokeswoman Susan Schonfeld said Doohan's ashes will be sent up along with the remains of some 200 other people, including astronaut Gordon Cooper, who first went into space in 1963.

SO MUCH TO DO!

I'm so crazy. I have sooo much work to do. I'm super glad I'm finally done updating the results of the surveys I did in 2005. I wanted to use those results to inform my marketing report that I'm behind on now - I think it was due last week! I'm going to be rushing like crazy to finish that today.

This girl I met online, Jean, who I talked about I think briefly in an earlier post (I think I gave her a shout-out in an earlier post)... well her and her b/f just broke up and she was living with him so now she has to find a new place to stay. If she can't, she may have to go back home to the interior. I'm optimistic that she will find something local and I actually might get to see her later today, so I'm giddy about that but at the same time, concerned that she isn't doing too well right now.

I'm a little sad that I haven't talked with Lisa C lately. And when I have, she's been distant with me. I feel like I don't even know her anymore and it makes me hurt inside.

On the Facebook front, I'm surprised at how many people are signed onto that thing. I have more than 90 contacts on that thing. There are a lot of Kwantlen students using it as well, which is interesting. I like its uniform look. Unlike Myspace, it has a standard layout that doesn't change. And there is no annoying music playing on each person's page.

What else? I've been eating a lot more fruit and veggies lately - a few servings each day. I'm also drinking a lot of water. I've been doing this since approximately March 21, and I feel a lot healthier already. I just have more energy. I've also not had any fries since then. The Gods tested me on this when I ate at White Spot on Thursday. I had asked for a side salad with a chicken burger I had ordered and when they brought me fries I almost kept the fries but instead reminded them I'd asked for a salad. And they brought a salad. And it was good.

Anyway, time to get to work.

1st letter from World Vision Sponsored Child...

My Mother and I have sponsored a child and today we received a letter from the child. The original was in her own writing - I will scan and post it later. Here is the typed translation that was included: "Dear Mrs. Beverly Lee, My family and I greet you, we live in a house made of mud, there is a hangar made of woods in front of the house. I live with my grandparents, my mom was divorced, but now got married. People here practice agriculture. The weather is warm, I do not attend school, but thank you for your sponsorship. Love, Traha"

g'morning

Dzienkuje! another day, no dollar. homework will mark my sunday.

i woke up this morning around 8am. For breakfast I made fresh waffles and bacon. I've been using spelt and a bit of flax mixed in with the normal white flour to make a more healthy batter.

I'm so looking forward to the season three finale of Battlestar Gallactica - one of the best shows on television.

so now, I'm posting to my blog. This week I plan on doing a lot... I'm going to get a lot of planning done on the sexuality fair that I want to hold this fall, as well as on the environmental fair for next spring. I'm going to finish the marketing plan for the KSA (just for the general services and events -- plans for the cafe and the fitness centre are still to come).

on a different note...

In visiting the entry on Wikipedia for BORAT which lead me to the article on oral sex which lead me to the following articles on sperm:

http://www.coolnurse.com/sperm_taste.htm

http://www.biggerloads.com/semen-taste/

http://www.orgasmpower.net/improve-taste.html

http://www.amysbettersextutorial.com/semen_sperm_taste.html

Which makes me think we should have some kind of health expert on campus during this fall's sex fair... as it looks like living and eating more healthy leads to better sex!

Other things I want to have on campus during the fair...

  • Sex Educator Norman Nawrocki who was on campus in 2005. He's already agreed to come on campus - I just need to get the dates worked out. I may chose to have three different Norman shows - one in Surrey, one in Richmond and one in Langley;

  • the luscious dancers to come and give demonstrations, and perhaps even intro poll dancing lessons;
  • Forest, the digeridoo artist - we had him on campus during a welcome week in 2005 and he was a hit. I'll post video on what he does with the digeridoo (nothing disgusting) - it's actually oddly relaxing;
  • various non-profit groups devoted to awareness issues around women's health, sexuality, sexual safety, pride (LGBT / Queer issues), etc.;
  • perhaps some sex shops on campus with product on hand; and
  • much more?

I don't know what else to have but I'm open to suggestion.

Time to get ready for the day...
