I so want this ATI All-In-Wonder Video Card. I'm gonna try and get it later this year, maybe around September. - Steve
new CPU fan installed
I'd installed the motherboard monitoring software that came with my ASUS P5P800 motherboard and found that the Intel CPU heat sink wasn't keeping the CPU cool enough. The ASUS program recommends giving a warning to you if it reaches 72C, and I found that even when doing hardly anything, the range was between 68C - 80C! So I did some investigating online, and found the Artic Freezer 7 heat sink which was supposed to help keep CPU running at much cooler levels.
So I got out to NCIX on Broadway just as they were about to close today and was able to pick one up. I installed it, moved my 5 1/4 drive bay devices around as I didn't like how I had originally installed them and voila I was ready to go.
Upon reboot, the ASUS monitoring program had the CPU temperature reading at about 40C - 45C which is a much cooler running temperature.
Now, I notice I've installed my floppy disk drive wrong, the light is on steady =S
time to power down and check the cable.

Some interesting allegations popped up regarding the FREEDOM TOWER... Freedom Tower Fraud?
Another CANADA DAY Come & Gone...
Spent Canada Day with two great friends - Christine and Cassandra at Canada Place. My dream of actually making it out to Granville Island to see the parade didn't quite work out, which is ok --- we got to see a lot of the exhibits, acts and displays at Canada Place. Got to eat corn on the cob, fish & chips, mini-donoughts, fresh lemonade and more. And we ended the day checking out the IMAX Vancouver shows of Alaska: Spirit of the Wild and Wild Safari 3D. I'll post pics someday soon.
Last night was topped off nicely spending time chatting with Cassity, a girl I've been chatting with online who lives and is studying in Calgary, Alberta (if only she lived closer!). I haven't chatted with her in about two months so it was a pleasure chatting with her late into the evening. She always makes me smile =)
Work on my movies database continues. I like the information I'm able to put into the database, but I'm not sure on how to best present the information in report form. Access reports are a pain in the ass to create - they never look good.

Happy Canada Day
HAPPY CANADA DAY everyone! Today I started creating an ACCESS DATABASE to organize my DVD / VHS Collection. I'll have it indexed with a lot more information than a simple title listing. It'll have information on actors, directors, year a film was released, type of movie (documentary, drama, comedy, foreign, etc.), directors of photography / cinematographers, editors, writers and more. I hope it will help give me a more accurate count of the films in my collection.
Lisa Coan called me this morning, before she left for the wedding her family is going to, somewhere in the interior of BC I think. It made my day hearing from her, before she left - so sweet of her to call!
Watched The Pacifier last night. It was ok - cute, family movie - essentialy, it's Vin Diesel does Kindergarten Cop. Not as bad as I might have thought it would be, quite enjoyable actually.
Anyway, time to get ready to go out - going to meet some friends at Canada Place to take a look at the various celebrations going on.
